I really wanted to like this practice, based on the reviews, especially because I’ve had a really hard time finding a good OB/GYN in the past few years. Everything started off completely wrong on my first appointment. The clerical staff couldn’t even enter my personal information correctly. How difficult is that to do? I noticed this on the paperwork when the assistant was taking my blood pressure, etc. and she even said herself, “Wow, I’m not even sure how that could have happened.” She notified the front desk that my information was wrong and she wrote down the corrected information. As I was sitting there, one of the clerical staff from up front walks into the room when I’m going over history. Um, no … you don’t get to just walk in, I don’t care if you do need to do business with the medical assistant. Maybe you can knock and let her know it’s important before barging in when she’s with a patient. Finally, I go back, and I’m met by Lindsey, the CNP and another CNP whom, I believe, was finishing her certification. They did not ask me if I wanted the other nurse there, but I decided it was okay because she was very professional and courteous. Lindsey was a little too flippant for me, and very rough with the exam. Whatever. A couple of weeks go by–I had cut them some slack because I knew they were moving their office–but no results. I call. Can’t get through. Mind you, I should have taken a note when I couldn’t even get through to someone BEFORE my appointment, but like I said … I’d researched and really wanted to like this practice. After three calls, I finally get someone and ask about my results. She happened to be the office manager. She told me they went out. Explained the whole ridiculous wrong information thing. She apologizes and updates my information. I asked to be removed from their patient portal and she immediately says, “Well, that’s our preferred method of communication.” Sorry, if a patient wants to have good old mail, you need to respect that. The patient portals being set up by physicians still have a number of security problems and this is a fact. The less data I can have out there about me for people to hack, steal or whatever, gives me more peace of mind. And I’m sorry–I’m not really concerned about trying to make it easier for a doctor to run her practice. After speaking to the office manager, I’m finally transferred to a nurse to get my results. She again tells me they were sent. Gave her a short spiel … address wrong, etc. She kept insisting, “Well, I just want you to know Lindsey did what she was supposed to do.” I don’t care about Lindsey at this point! I just want my documented results. How frustrating. I’m telling you who cares, it wasn’t possible for me to get the mail since your staff input it wrong and all you’re concerned about is Lindsey’s reputation for sending results? Okay … Needless to say I’ll never go back here. These are very simple things to get right.
